Cookies and Local Storage
Beta Beta. Last updated 26 October 2026
Eracade sets no cookies. It does use your browser's local storage to remember your scores and settings on your own device.
Cookies
We set no cookies of our own and load no third-party scripts that could set them. Local storage is used only to provide features you ask for (remembering your own scores and settings) and its contents never leave your device, so no consent banner is shown.
What local storage holds
All keys start with eracade. and stay in your browser. They are never sent to us.
eracade.year: the last era (year) you chose on the dial.eracade.muted: whether sound is switched off.eracade.crt: whether the CRT screen effect is on.eracade.calm: whether calm mode (no flashes or screen shake) is on.eracade.initials: the 3 letters you last used for a high score.eracade.scores.<game>: the high-score table for each game (initials and scores), for exampleeracade.scores.phosphor-parry.eracade.input.<game>: your custom keyboard and gamepad bindings for each game, if you changed them.
Initials are whatever 3 letters you pick. If you share your device, you may prefer not to use your real initials.
How to clear it
- In your browser: open the site settings for eracade.com and choose "Clear data" or "Delete site data" (in Chrome, Edge and Firefox, use the site-information icon beside the address bar, then site settings). Clearing all browsing data also removes it, and a private window discards it when closed.
Clearing deletes your scores and settings permanently; we cannot restore them.
If this changes
If we add accounts, ads, leaderboards or payments, we may need cookies or similar technologies. We will update this page first, show any consent choices the law requires, and not set non-essential ones until you agree. See the Privacy Policy.
